Welcome to the official online home of Enterprise Lodge No. 31, Free and Accepted Masons of the 5th Masonic District under the Jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey. Whether you are a traveling brother seeking fellowship, a local resident interested in our community initiatives, or someone curious about the timeless traditions of Freemasonry, we are honored by your visit.
Our History & Heritage
Enterprise Lodge stands as a pillar of masonic tradition in Hudson County. Our roots stretch back to January 14, 1857, when we were first warranted as Enterprise Lodge No. 48 in Jersey City. Over the generations, our designation evolved to Lodge No. 31, but our commitment to the core tenets of Masonry—Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth—has never wavered. Today, we hold the proud distinction of being the oldest continuously operating Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons in Hudson County, New Jersey. For nearly 170 years, our brethren have worked to make good men better and to build a legacy of quiet, dedicated service to the community around us.
Meeting in the Heart of Jersey City
Our historical and spiritual home is located at 87 Hutton St, in the vibrant Jersey City Heights neighborhood. This space serves not only as a sanctuary for our ancient rituals but also as a hub for community enrichment. True to our masonic obligation, we strive to be a force for good in Jersey City. From sponsoring local youth and family events to hosting our essential bi-monthly community food pantry, the brothers of Enterprise Lodge No. 31 are actively engaged in serving those who need it most.
